Aah, starting out the year right hanging with my sweet niece, Brianna! Isn’t she so gorgeous? 🙂 And look at the cutest gift she brought me from Disneyland: PINK MINNIE MOUSE EARS! Oh my gosh, I’m in LOVE!
Bri stays cool in this casual knit top and leggings from Nordstrom while we visited The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza in Downtown Dallas. MsMona’s sequined t-shirt ($5.00 at Macy’s), liquid leggings and $15.00 pleather vest (JC Penney) were just enough during an unseasonably warm winter evening. We also enjoyed walking (Bri in her Steve Madden’s and me in my $5.99 Old Navy boots) over to dine at Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant, Five Sixty, atop Reunion Tower – its rotating sphere makes the view even more spectacular! 🙂 If you haven’t experienced either of these places, I highly recommend them during your next stop in North Texas.
Family time always seems to fly by too fast. It’s like Bri was just arriving when the hour came to take her back to the airport. Ugh, I miss her so much already, but we’re looking forward to our next visit in her hood – shopping, Mexican food, and more tattoos! 🙂 XOXO, my beautiful Baby Girl!

Welcome to a brand new year! Time to leave behind the worries and fears that weighed you down – life is too precious and has so much to offer! 🙂
Speaking of lightening up…our current weather feels more like autumn with sunshine and blue skies accompanying crisp morning and evening temperatures. The Husband and I dressed accordingly in neutral tones (and layers) to stay comfortable all day. 🙂 He looks great in his $2.99 ultrasuede vest from Goodwill, doesn’t he? Jeans and a polo were all he needed to keep it simple.
OMG, have you taken advantage of Old Navy’s huge sale? Everything I’m wearing (except for my old comfy Target scarf) is from their clearance racks at 50-93% off! Unbelievable! 🙂
What wonderful adventures do you have planned for 2012? 🙂

“We all know that when a woman feels like a woman, there is POWER!”
-Dianne Samoff, Founder SWWLS (click above to see her gorgeous sequin dress)
The rain didn’t stop volunteers and guests from coming out to support non-profit organization, Society of Women Who LOVE Shoes…and Fashion. Not only did we collect shoes, but this month we are excited to accept toys for many deserving boys and girls around Dallas/Ft. Worth!
In wet weather, comfort is key. 🙂 This $10.00 Apt. 9 knit dress from Kohls has a tiered crinoline skirt attached, making it an easy choice for our evening event. And these crazy clearance sequin slingback heels by Tahari – let’s just say Marshalls made them even cozier by way of my pocketbook.
Oh, and how handsome is The Husband?! His celery green Banana Republic shirt and Stafford black vest (OMG, JC Penney tag still attached) were both an extra 50% off at the Samaritan Inn’s Thrift Store 2 in McKinney. This $6.00 combo makes both of us smile. 🙂
Bringing JOY to families around the Metroplex this Christmas. What better way is there to enjoy the holiday season? 🙂

Does MsMona LOVE boots? Absolutely! But what’s a girl with dancer calves to do when all the cutie pie footwear are made for teeny tiny (aka “average”) legs?! Try ’em on anyway, because you never know! 🙂
So, I first glanced over these amazing Steve Madden boots at Ross. I really liked the gray/black distressed combination with the royal blue zipper – super unique! When I saw a similar version at Macy’s, sans buckle at the bottom, I couldn’t believe the difference in price. That was it, I was Ross bound once again! But would they zip up? Yeah Baby! Oh, and the brown/red zipper combo fit just fine, too…
How does that saying go? If the BOOT fits…buy it in every color! 🙂
By the way, just call me “Cookie Monster” – this sweet I.N.C. faux fur was a clearance buy at Macy’s. Remember to take advantage of those “Extra $10 off” opportunities by signing up for online newsletters and special ads!

Halloween festivities at the North Texas Chamber was crazy fun! :) We enjoyed a chili and dessert cook-off, face painting, the BACARDI® Vampire Bar, and dancing the night away! Loved wearing my over-the-knee faux leather boots (only $24.99 at Ross), but there must have been a full moon that evening because my dogs weren’t barkin’ – they were HOWLIN’! 🙂
My costume was…well, I called it “Ringmaster of the Dead”. One of my FAV skirts is actually two clearance pieces tailored together so the circle-shape stays fluffy.  I added this cropped satin bolero with ruffled trim (a $9.99 bargain at Torrid), and the most adorable $10.00 headband from The Icing! Adhered to it is a mini black top hat, tulle, and boney white hand with dark red blood droplets all over it. I KNOW, right?! :) click on the image to see more detail
Lynn is my creative buddy – just look at how totally vampy she is in her DIY costume! Misty, our fabulous “Witchtress of Ceremonies”, kept it simple with her sassy stockings and matching fascinator. These ladies, and many more, did a wonderful job putting this event together! Can’t wait for the next NTC par-tay!
