Got It Bad for Betsey!

Author: msmona  //  Category: Tips

What’s better than finding fun, whimsical jewelry on clearance?  How about attending an amazing “Buy One/Get One” V.I.P. shopping event at Betsey Johnson’s NorthPark boutique!  My sweet friend, Cara, helped me find adorable matching baubles that I can wear with my basic clothing pieces – in addition to the accessories, visit the store through this holiday weekend for lots of great deals on clothes and shoes, too!

Keep checking back to see what I wear with my new BJ jewels…

Miss Jakia’s Afternoon Tea

Author: msmona  //  Category: Tips

As a huge fan of theme parties, I was thrilled to receive an invitation from my friend, Tina, to attend her daughter’s first hosted tea.  The Royal Wedding influenced Miss Jakia’s afternoon with a spread of tempting bites, variety of teas, delicate pastel decor, and a wonderful presentation of her upcoming missionary staff work with Global Aid Network.  Of course, spending quality time with these two gorgeous women was the real treat! 🙂

I knew I was waiting to wear this fun combo for a reason!  I picked up this black ruffle-rimmed taupe skirt at Nordstrom Rack for $11.99 (yea, 40% off their original discounted price), and happened upon a matching flowered fascinator at Charming Charlie – oh, check out Jakia’s feathered headpiece that her friend made for her.  Just right for a special afternoon tea time with the Girls!

Dahlings, what was the last purchase you waited to wear for a specific occasion? 🙂

Zippin’ Around Town

Author: msmona  //  Category: Tips

This week I attended a wonderful evening of networking with the RCC’s Women in Leadership!  It was great meeting new faces and getting to know my fellow committee members in such a whimsical atmosphere – Beyond the Door was a terrific host, providing enough food and wine to keep our hungry shoppers satisfied. 🙂

80’s Glam Rock is another one of my favorite fashion eras, so when I found this cooool INC drop waist zipper dress at 1/2 of 1/2, I danced in the aisle!  I remember seeing it on a Macy’s clearance rack, but this deal was literally pennies in comparison. :)  With my black studded Steve Madden Luxe sandals securely zipped to my feet, I was ready to play the night away!

Where was the last time you met the Girls for a little networking time?

Betsey Johnson Baubles

Author: msmona  //  Category: Tips

As you can see, I’m a huge Betsey Johnson fan!  I think my fascination with her jewelry, especially, stems from years of costuming and stage life – a flashy, yet feminine use of rhinestones in her themed lines immediately draws me in.  And the fact that I can afford individual pieces, compared to her clothes and shoes, makes it nice, too. 🙂

So, where did I find this handful of my current collection?  Dillard’s, Macy’s, Ross, Nordstrom Rack and, of course, the Betsey Johnson Boutique in Dallas.  The best part:  each one of them was on clearance for under $20.00!

Trust me – you don’t want to keep these boxed until Halloween!  Some of them are way big and crazy (ex. my fav spider web ring), but when you accessorize a basic color like black, the sparkle from these baubles make any outfit come aliiiiiiiiive!

Whose collection do you turn to for colorful costume jewels?

P.S.  How cute are my glitzy nails?! :)  Go see my “Sweet Charity” at Nail Oasis, Dallas.
